Learning Spanish
Anyone who wants to learn a bit of Spanish online, like me, here's a great site. They offer a lot of free stuff, just enough to learn to get around.
And if you really want to go for it, you can buy a whole course, which will cost you about $200. That doesn't sound too expensive.
A disadvantage is that the course is focused on Americans learning the language. All words are given together with their English equivalents, so you need to have a good grasp of English already. Also, they contrast the pronunciation of a native Spanish speaker with an American speaker with a heavy accent. Try this. First you hear a number of words containing the vowel 'o' being pronounced by someone from Peru and someone from Spain, and then you hear an American giving it a try.
Quite funny, actually.
I'm sorry I didn't find this site earlier, I might have surprised my friends Toot and Jan with my fluency in Spanish at my arrival in Tegucigalpa.
